The Road to Blogalicious

Hey there Sunflowers! I am super excited because in just two days I will be headed to my 6th Blogalicious conference.  Many of you know all too well that I have been a faithful stalker supporter turned One Percenter since 2016. In fact, my very first blog post was inspired by my impromptu attendance back in 2011. Blogalicious always delivers an amazing experience that is so much more than just blogging.  Let’s be clear. Blogging is not for everybody but the conference’s broad appeal is one reason why I continue to return year after year. This year is no different. The conference theme Content is Life builds on last year’s Build Your Own Empire theme.

As such, this year I am attending with a bit of a different lens. While I undoubtedly expect to network with fellow bloggers, connect with brands and discover new blogging tips, my goal in heading to Atlanta later this week is to harness tools, inspiration and opportunities to expand my entrepreneurial efforts. Whether you’re leaving a legacy for your family, creating multiple income streams or turning your passion into profit, everyone can benefit from acquiring new skills to help move you forward in achieving your life goals, right?

As I get ready to join my Blogalicious family in ATL, I am reminded of so many memories (click the link in the caption for the post):

Meet Iron Chef Marc Forgione at Macy’s

Happy Thursday my lovely Sunflowers!

I cordially invite you to join me next Thursday, June 11th at Montgomery Mall in Bethesda, MD to meet Chef Marc Forgione when he kicks the season off with a delectable, private dinner party. Dine with one of the best chefs in the business as he shares stories from the kitchen. I don’t know about you, but I’m even hoping to pick up a recipe or two! What better way to kick off the summer?

Marc Forgione

Chef Marc Forgione is the chef/owner of Restaurant Marc Forgione in New York City, American Cut in New York City, and Revel in Atlantic City. He was recognized with a glowing two-star review in the New York Times and received a Michelin star consecutively three years in a row! As Marc Forgione puts it, “Classic American food never tasted so good.” From Amazon:

Forgione’s first cookbook features gorgeous photos throughout and 170 recipes with restaurant signature favorites including Chili Lobster and Chicken Under a Brick. The cookbook features not only recipes but also stories of an unlikely journey to where Chef Forgione and the restaurant are now. Flavor comes first, but Forgione is like an artist in the way he presents food. His goal with the book is not to just present a collection of recipes but to challenge home cooks and aspiring chefs, helping them to elevate their skills in the kitchen.

The foodie in me is looking forward to a great meal but I’m even more excited to hear about Chef Forgione’s journey. As I shared in my Foodstalgia post, the story behind food fascinates me. I find it intriguing how food can evoke so many emotions and ignite all of our senses, creating an experience beyond the tangible. Won’t you join me in checking out what the Chef has in store for us?

Space is limited so reserve your spot today by calling 1-877-556-2297 10AM – 6PM EST. Tickets are $45 and include a reserved seat to the dinner, a $20 Macy’s gift card (must be used that evening)  and a copy of Chef Forgione’s cookbook, Recipes and Stories (while supplies last), which he’ll sign during the event.

4 Reasons I’m Anxcited about Blogalicious!

My love of Blogalicious – the annual conference elevating multicultural voices in digital media –  is no secret. It’s only the reason I started blogging, the source of my EPIC time in Vegas 2 years ago and the first time I publicly announced my pregnancy last year. Well here we are 3 days away from this year’s Blogalicious #BeGreatB6 conference in San Antonio, Texas and I am anxcited (both anxious and excited – nope didn’t make it up)! Here’s why:

Well, mini-presenting 🙂 I’ll be chatting it up with participants sharing tips for making your blog posts #BeGreat at the bLink bar. I mean I am qualified right, right?  If you’ll be around, come check me out at 12 noon on Friday in the Blogalicious Social Suite!

I am so honored to have been selected as a Toyota Ambassador. As the event’s title sponsor Toyota has pulled out all of the stops for conference attendees. As a Blogger Ambassador, I will have access to various private events all in an effort to share the latest and greatest from Toyota. Be sure to follow me so that you too can share in the fun!

Due to my obsession support, I join several other stalkers fans in being designated as a Blogalicious One Percenter! What does this mean? Probably special perks and treats but honestly I just love the fact that my support is appreciated and it is always a good time being in such great company =)

At the end of the Summer, we took the baby on her first road trip to visit my sister in CT. Going to Blogalicious will be her first time on a plane and staying in a hotel. I have spent the last 2 months scouring the internet, baby boards and all of my mommy groups seeking info for infant travel. Although I’m probably as prepared as one can be, I still feel a twang of anxiety. But if experience is any indicator, my babygirl will go with the flow as she always does while gallivanting with her wacky Momma (I mean, did you see this video? ha!)

Not to mention all of the usual reasons to look forward to this awesome conference: networking with fellow bloggers old and new, connecting with brands and learning new tips and skills.

Welp, I’m off to pack….see you on the other side Sunflowers, have a great week!

Are you going to Blogalicious this year? Have you ever been to San Antonio? Any tips for traveling with a baby? Leave your sunshine below.
